The Ultimate Online Dice Roller
Whether you are playing a classic board game, a tabletop RPG like Dungeons & Dragons, or just need to settle a friendly dispute, our Online Dice Roller provides a fair, truly random, and convenient way to roll any number of dice.
Physical dice are great, but they can get lost, roll off the table, or be weighted unfairly. Our digital roller uses high-entropy randomization to ensure that every roll is as unbiased as possible.
Common Dice Types Explained
In the world of gaming and statistics, dice are often referred to by the letter "d" followed by the number of sides.
D4 (Tetrahedron)
Four-sided die, often used for small damage rolls or magic effects in RPGs.
D6 (Cube)
The standard six-sided die found in almost every traditional board game like Monopoly.
D10 (Decahedron)
Often used in pairs to roll percentages (00-99) or for specific skill checks.
D20 (Icosahedron)
The iconic 20-sided die used for nearly everything in D20-based systems like D&D.
Probability of Dice Rolls
Understanding the probability of a roll helps in strategy games. For a single die with n sides, the probability of rolling any specific number is 1/n.
When you roll multiple dice (like 2d6), the probability distribution shifts. While there is only one way to roll a 2 (1+1) or a 12 (6+6), there are six ways to roll a 7 (1+6, 2+5, 3+4, 4+3, 5+2, 6+1). This creates a Bell Curve distribution where the middle results are much more likely than the extremes.
